In this article, I will briefly discuss the most famous predictions about the future which has profound interest for everyone.
Michel de Nostradame
Michel de Nostradame was a great astrologer and physician born in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France in 1503. Nostradame became famous for his prophesies which he published in his book “The Prophecie”. This book was published in 1555 and became famous worldwide which is still read widely. His book is the collection of one thousand quatrains (four-line rhyming verses) which are said to foretell the future. However, most of his prophesies belong to the past which his believers try to convince us about the accuracy of his predictions. For example, bombing of Hiroshima, Japan, in 1945; the Space Shuttle Challenger accident in 1986; the French Revolution in 1789; the Apollo moon landing in 1969; the death of Princess Diana in 1997; both World Wars, and so on are a few predictions of Nostradame which have turned to be true. However, the biggest challenge for ascertaining his prophecies is that these are written in so obscure manner that anybody can interpret these in any manner he/she wishes. Further, during his life time, people and the church was against witches and witchcraft. So, in order to avoid any religious prosecution, he used an obscure method of writing his prophecies in the form of quatrains—rhymed four-line verses—and a mixture of other languages such as Greek, Italian, Latin, and Provencal, a dialect of Southern France so as to hide the actual meaning of his predictions.
